Summer Shakes, Inc., the company producing the Festival, has an excellent working relationship with local city councils, schools, and the Virginia Beach Arts & Humanities Commission, and your sponsorship will also demonstrate support of civic cultural improvements and our educational programs for children, which have engaged thousands of children and parents over the last 10 years.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION WILL:

Provide after school scholarship money to needy, at risk children in the community. (A well-known fact is that children who are exposed to the arts perform better scholastically; at the top of the list are theater arts!)
Provide free/affordable performance space, which is practically non-existent in our community. Many talented people here are unable to develop their craft because of no rehearsal/performance space.
Help support The Hampton Roads Shakespeare Festival, a fine performing arts event which increases potential tourism dollars as well as add to the quality of life in our community.
Prove to our “city fathers” that partnership between city and non-profit organizations is a real win/win to our community.
Give young talent the opportunity to work and train in a professional environment, thereby increasing their chances of success.
